Panel replacement cost depends on what is being changed. Replacing a panel, increasing the home’s service capacity and adding circuits are different scopes. Service Pro provides a free estimate based on the existing equipment and planned electrical demand.
Define the work before comparing prices.
A panel replacement is not automatically a service-capacity increase. A proposal should identify the equipment being replaced, whether the service rating changes, and which circuits or connected equipment are included. Comparing only the amp rating or number of breaker spaces can miss significant differences.
We do not publish a universal panel replacement price here. Your existing installation, proposed loads and access need to be assessed before we can give a meaningful installed quote.
What affects an electrical panel quote?
| Scope item | Question for the estimate |
|---|---|
| Panel and breakers | Which equipment and compatible breakers are included? |
| Service capacity | Is this a panel-only replacement or a service upgrade? |
| New loads | Are HVAC, a water heater or other planned appliances included in the assessment? |
| Existing circuits | Which circuits are reconnected, changed or added? |
| Location and access | Does the proposal include relocation, wall work or associated repairs? |
| Grounding and bonding | What work is required for the assessed installation? |
| Coordination | What utility coordination, outage planning and separate work are needed? |
Plan for future equipment before buying it.
If you are considering a heat pump or electric tankless water heater, tell us before choosing the appliance. Empty breaker spaces do not prove that the electrical service has capacity for an added load. Ask what assessment supports the recommendation.
Our panel upgrade planning guide helps organize your current and future equipment needs. A replacement quote should distinguish required work from optional upgrades so you can make an informed choice.
Understand the interruption and handoff.
Discuss the expected power interruption, access to affected areas and any needs that depend on continuous power. Confirm the installation sequence with the team rather than assuming that every project can be finished on the same schedule.
At completion, review circuit identification, the work performed, written coverage and whom to contact with questions. Keep the final documentation with the home’s records.
Repair or replacement?
A recurring trip needs diagnosis; it is not proof that the whole panel needs replacement. Our panel repair-versus-replacement guide explains what belongs in that conversation. Service Pro offers $0 diagnostics, with repairs quoted separately.
Request a free panel estimate.
Book an electrical installation estimate and explain your reason for the upgrade. Share existing equipment information only when it is safely visible; do not remove the panel cover to collect details.
